Share any file with Anyone

You can share any file with anyone. They do not have to be a Griddrive subscriber. There are two ways of sharing a file. Publicly or Privately – Securely.
Public File Sharing
Sharing a file publicly, puts the file and the link on your Portal’s home page and is visible to anyone that visits your portal. You can also email that link to anyone and they will be able to download the file just by clicking on it.
Private – Secure File Sharing
Sharing a file privately, allows you to decide who you want to share the file with. It also does not appear on your home page.
Simply right click on any file on your portal and then choose ‘Share’ from the pop up menu. It will popup a new window that will give you the options of sharing the file. Choose ‘Share this item Publicly’ if you want the file to be open to everyone. Or choose ‘Share this item only with selected people’. if you want to share privately. Choosing the 2nd option will open a field that will allow you to add the name and email addresses of people that you want to share the file with. Click on ‘Add Users’ which will open a window to allow you to add the name and email address.
If you want to share privately. Choosing the 2nd option will open a field that will allow you to add the name and email addresses of people that you want to share the file with.
Click on the ‘Add Users’ button and another window will popup, allowing you to add the persons name and email address. Click add when you have entered the information. You can add multiple names by clicking on ‘Add Users’ the same way. When done, click ok. The system will send out an email to each of the people on your list. It will create ID’s and Password’s for people that do not have a Griddrive account, enabling them to log into your portal and view the shared file. For people that do have an account, they can either go to your portal, log in and view the file, or just click on the ‘Web Sharing’ link on their own portal. It will show the file that has been shared.
